Topuria on his role as an MMA promoter: "The UFC sees you at WOW, and other athletes can achieve my dream here."

It's been several months since former UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria, along with his management team, took the step toward becoming a mixed martial arts (MMA) promoter. He did so by becoming a shareholder in WOW , a national company already established as a benchmark in Spanish MMA. His entry undoubtedly represented a media boost and the pursuit of a new corporate mentality.

Last Thursday, during his appearance on El Hormiguero, El Matador, the nickname by which he is known, recalled the two upcoming events: WOW 19 in Alicante , on May 17, and WOW 20 Night of Champions in Madrid , on June 7.

" At WOW we bring top-level athletes . On June 7th, in Madrid we have an event that will make history, the biggest MMA event ever held in our country, with people with a long history and new talents, accompanied by good music and good fights. Whoever goes... won't regret it," he told his colleague Pablo Motos.

The largest national MMA league, Topuria assures, is the place to build a career that leads to the UFC. " WOW is the place where other athletes can achieve my dream. If you fight in WOW, they'll see you in the UFC. I know how to tell their story well, but I'm not going to give anything away to anyone; they have to earn respect ," he concluded.
